About
Adaptive artistryI was born in “America’s Dairyland,” Wisconsin, and came into this world a little lopsided. Born without my left hand, I’ve always had to find my own way of doing things, music included.
It started with the trumpet, the one band instrument it was assumed I could play with one hand. At home I kept wandering over to our old Yamaha Clavinova, and little by little I figured out my own way of playing piano. My own experience has taught me that music belongs to everyone, even when it isn’t always built with everyone in mind. Having had to rethink every instrument I’ve picked up, I’m intent on helping people with differences discover what they’re capable of.
I live and play by a philosophy of adaptive artistry.
